Craving
Mixed media-Oil on canvas, Digital artwork
Craving explores the tension between external pressures and the yearning for freedom. The girl trapped in a box represents the constraints of societal expectations. Her outstretched arm symbolizes a longing to grasp memories of a simpler, freer time as well as expressing a desire to transcend the overwhelming pressures. The vibrant colours within the box contrast with the muted surroundings, highlighting the stark difference between past joy and present reality.

Re·plant
Colour pencil on paper
Re·plant aims to reflect the transition from a protected, innocent world to the harsh realities of life. The fetus is symbolized as a seed, poised to confront the world; meanwhile the innocent flower blossoming above, represents a pure, untouched paradise. The dark - empty background portrays the looming harsh reality, creating a striking contrast. The hands signify the beginning of an unsettling shift - symbolizing the inevitable transition from a sheltered haven to the complexities of life.

Travel of Stories
Acrylic on canvas
Travel of Stories explores how the process of sharing stories shapes our understanding of the world around us. The flowing lines and interconnected forms represent the journey of these stories as they evolve, transform, and persist in the collective consciousness. The ears signify the ways in which the past intertwines with the present through hearing. The vibrant colours evoke the emotional depth of the stories, while the delicate details reflect how memories remain vital and alive through time.

Distorted Route
Oil on canvas, metal cogs
Distorted Route explores the struggle to escape the burdens of adulthood, evoking nostalgia for childhood. The figure reaches for an exit symbolizing childhood but falls rapidly, reflecting how adulthood arrives too quickly. The ladder, though seemingly present and offering a path, is twisted and broken, signifying how the escape from adulthood appears possible but is ultimately unattainable. This distortion reinforces the feelings of being trapped, heightening frustration and helplessness.

House of Words
Mixed media- card and sculpey, balsa wood
House of Words explores the relationship between language, senses and memory, transforming abstract emotions into tangible forms. The 7 objects inside the house are visualised forms of various onomatopoeia, representing how sensory sounds are stored within our memory. The large green form signifies the chaotic nature of the word ‘와글와글’. The symbols on the roof reflect a human’s five senses, such as the cochlea and tongue - were depicted to connect the idea of language with sensory perception.
Other AngleSenses
Video
Senses aims to explore the relationship between human senses and distant memory. The repeated destruction of the paper airplane represents childhood trauma and its repetitive influence on adulthood. The predominantly dark, blue-toned colour palette throughout the film, signifies the painful emotions that are stored within our memories. The blinking eyes are purposely distorted, expressing how easily memories can be manipulated with the passage of time.

Childhood Diary
Digital work
This artwork explores a significant moment of the artist’s childhood through visualised forms of her diary. The details of the human figure slowly fade away, signifying the fragmented nature of distant memories. The elements in red express the unique aroma scent of the hospital and the languid feeling that the artist experienced. The repetition of the waving gesture, the taxi and the teardrop emphasize the overwhelming emotions that the artist went through when departing from the hospital.

Succession
Acrylic on watercolour paper
Inspired by Michael Ende’s book “Momo”, Succession aims to visualise how stories are continuously passed down through countless ages via people's words and ears. Calm sand tones and monochromatic colours were used to reflect the sombre mood of the novel. The stairs leading towards the mouth and the ear signify a pathway of stories being passed and exchanged across generations. The sand timer and the infinite doors symbolise the passage of time and its unstoppable nature.

Let It Go
Mixed media - coloured pencil, acrylil and casting
At times, even the most beautiful moments must be left behind as mere recollections of the past. The cascading paint - symbolising memories - is accompanied by hands desperately clinging to its flow, embodying our innate desire to hold onto those fleeting moments. To convey the passage of time, an elongated canvas is used to capture the paint dripping down in an extended flow. The pool of intermingling colours beneath this piece represents the remnants of memories that persist over time.
Other AngleSplinters of Unconscious
Video
Splinters of Unconscious explores reminiscence through fragmented memories, blurred reality, and fluid time. Dreams appear in this film as scattered yet rhythmic fragments, signifying how past experiences resurface themselves through vivid and distorted forms. The ever-expanding and contracting form of those fragments symbolise the unlimited nature of human imagination. The dark background is deliberately used to reflect the borderless realm of man’s unconsciousness when dreaming.

Wilted
Digital work
With the contrast between fresh and wilted flowers, Wilted explores memory's fragility - its beauty, loss, and transformation. This tension mirrors how memories fade yet endure. The white lily symbolises remembrance, while the lotus represents renewal after decay. Hands - marked by time - signify wisdom and past experiences. The piece reflects the delicate interplay between memory and time - presenting how we cherish the past while embracing the present.
