Residence Design Inspired By Hermit Crab

Digital Work

This digital 3D design represents protection and flexibility, with imagery taken from that of a hermit crab. The shells' tough walls depict toughness as well as defensiveness, enclosing and protecting the tender parts in a crab's body. The curves add domestic functionality, which signifies a demonstration of nature in balancing toughness with flexibility. The inwards pressed structures on walls in shells depict coexistence between human residence as well as defense construction.

Colonial Anemone Inspired Structure

Digital Work

This architectural structure explores transformation and adaptability, mirroring the tentacles of colonial anemones. The dynamic shift in size and flexibility across levels organic growth, while the sturdy lower sections act as a foundation, much like anemones anchoring to rocks. The gradual thinning of the structure symbolizes lightness and upward movement, illustrating how natural forms inspired architecture that evolves with its environment.

Thorn Tower

Digital Work

This cactus-like, spiny, pillar shape reminds one of a cactus. Cacti, in reality, contain numerous useful chemical compounds for humans. The thorned armor structure symbolises the concealment of a treasure trove of life-giving compounds in the cactus which shows nature's paradox in that resilience and energy can be found alongside a rough exterior. Through this piece, I aim to juxtapose the preconceived notion that the cactus, based solely on its exterior, is a troublesome or unnecessary presence.

Seaweed Inspired Structure

Digital Work

This digital 3D design signifies fluidity and flexibility with reference to seaweed. The fluid forms evoke seaweed leaves, which respond to external pressures in terms of waves, reflecting architecture that is reactive to its context. Its stability in terms of functionality is reminiscent of seaweed survival in turbulent seas, making a design that is in coherence with gravity as well as with motion. The idea overall reference to structural stability versus free flowing in urban contexts.

Oyster Shell

Digital Work

This digital 3D symbolizes the cycle of life—birth, growth, and decay—through the fusion of a rhino and a seashell. The spiral form explores the natural order, reminding us that all things, including art, are impermanent. I aimed to contrast the traditional perceptions of permanence in sculpture, proposing the idea of artworks designed to naturally degrade over time. This piece encourages reflection on sustainability, urging a harmonious relationship between creativity and nature’s rhythms.

Resilient Reef

Digital Work

This is a Rhino (3D design software), Autodesk Meshmixer, and CAD design, inspired by the structural design of coral reefs. I modelled an interlocking structure that reflects coral formations and displays coastal protection while fostering marine biodiversity. The organic voids reduce wave energy while creating habitats for marine life. This piece explores the intersection of nature and engineering, questioning how human structures can harmonise with ecosystems rather than disrupt them.

Hivapartment

Colour Pencil

This colored pencil artwork is a study on biomimicry in architecture, with reference to a beehive. The honeycomb-like modules are a symbol of testament to a communal, sustainable urban lifestyle that is both efficient and networked. The golden tones are evocative of heat and energy, with the deeper tones at ground level reflecting urban concentration. The work is a disruption from conventional forms in architecture, with a vision that brings forth a new kind of architecture that is influenced by nature.
